Proudly based in the Isle of Man since being formed in 2000, but with a heritage that dates back to 1977, CM provides tailored financial and accounting solutions to a wide range of local and international clients.

Despite significant changes in the way business is conducted over the past 20 years, at the heart of the firm’s success  remains an unwavering commitment to delivering ‘best in class’ client service.

As the official 21 year milestone approaches later this year, the firm is continuing to grow, but with one eye on the future, and is making a number of changes to reflect the continuing evolution of the business.

Director and co-founder of CM, David Morgan, explains: “Part of this process involves evolving the Crowe Morgan name. Crowe Morgan Chartered Accountants will become  CM Partners Limited (practising name ‘CM Partners’ ) and sister company Crowe Morgan Management Limited will become CM Trust Limited (practising name ‘CM Trust’).

“We are very much a team and with the retirement of co- founder Michael Crowe a couple of years ago we felt that this change would better reflect this. With a new website and other promotional materials also in development, this refresh of our brand also promises to work better in a digital environment.’

“We believe that our continued success since 2000  has been achieved by maintaining a commitment to our long established core values, in particular a dedicated, tailored service for every client.”

The firm now employs 70 staff , testament to the reputation it has garnered both on and off-Island over the past 21 years.

CM Partners will continue to offer a full spectrum of accountancy, audit, advisory and tax services.  CM Trust will continue to offer trust and corporate services  , wealth management services , along with dedicated services such as legacy planning and management.

CM have also been successful in relocating several High Net Worth (HNW) individuals to the Island in recent years. This ‘concierge’ service can extend not only to the management of the client’s financial affairs, but also to their domestic arrangements. The team are incredibly well connected within the Island’s community and their support for a HNW relocation can incorporate a wide range of assistance; examples include dealing with estate agents on a property purchase, through to assisting with the search for healthcare and schools.

Whatever the client requirement, all decisions are tailored to their specific needs. Frequently the CM team are required to “think outside the box” to develop the simple, low-cost solutions they have a reputation for providing their clients.

One aspect of the CM approach that won’t be changing will be the ‘best in class’ training that CM offer.  They take a great deal of pride in being recognised as a training firm for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a Platinum Approved Training firm for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The firm currently has 25 trainees actively studying towards one of the qualifications. Alongside this, CM provides a nurturing training environment by giving their trainees invaluable practical, professional and varied training in their day to day roles.

In fact, CM is the biggest, independent, training practice in the Isle of Man, and invests significant amounts of time and money in developing its staff so that they can service clients to the highest standards. A clear pathway to management exists at both junior and senior levels for trainees and a number of the senior team have progressed through their proven in-house management training programme.

CM originated out of Douglas-based practices Fryers Bell and Clarke and Rayton 21 years ago. Now in 2021, their many clients around the world can be reassured that the evolution to an overarching ‘CM’ branding will mean no change to the commitment to delivering the dedicated, tailored service to clients they have been renowned for since then.
