CM’s Summer Social 2020

Last Saturday marked Crowe Morgan’s summer social, and what a day it turned out to be!  This was the second year we have held such a day at Cronkbourne Cricket Club, and whilst there was no fiendish treasure hunt this year there was plenty else going on to keep everybody busy!

Our day started with lunch served by Laurie and her team at Wicked Wagon, who did a great job of serving 60 hungry adults and children in the heat.

After some friendly games of rounders things got rather more competitive with a game of tug-of-war – boys vs girls of course.  The boys were a little embarrassed when the girls beat them!

There were activities for the children all day, including face painting by our very own Jenny Green, a bouncy castle and a giant inflatable obstacle course (which proved great fun for adults as well).

In the evening Mike Vipond of Douglas Golf Club arranged for a selection of delicious curries to be brought down, and the Ian Thompson Band set up to play for us all.  Unfortunately the heat of the day caused their mixer to blow, so they had to cut their set short (although they have promised to play again for us at a future event).  There was some speculation that they may have been sabotaged by our own John Martland, who quickly produced a guitar and performed a set of his own!

A huge thanks to the senior Directors for funding the event, Cronkbourne Cricket Club for hosting and keeping the drinks flowing throughout the day, Fair Play for the hire of the inflatables, Wicked Wagon and Mike Vipond for the tasty food, the Ian Thompson Band (in advance for a future social!), the social committee for bringing everything together, the Manx weather for playing a blinder and everybody who attended on the day.

Events like this show what a family atmosphere we have at the firm, and it was really lovely to see everybody enjoying themselves so much after what has been a difficult few months.

We are looking for qualified accountants to join us in an assistant manager role, if this looks like the sort of place you would like to work then please do get in touch!
