CM held their annual summer social on Saturday at Douglas Rugby Club.  It was a change of venue for us this year, which probably worked out for the best as the weather wasn’t as kind as it had been last year!

We were served delicious hot dogs/burgers/brisket by Jenny and Darren of The Grill Pit, followed by rocky road cake and Eton mess.  They did an excellent job of feeding 80 hungry adults and children!

There were some friendly games of rounders before the weather took a bit of a turn for the worse and we retreated to the decked area.  That didn’t stop the hardy souls on the bouncy castle and the inflatable obstacle course from making the most of the day though!

In the evening Jamie Blackburn came down to play for us, and our own Mel Cooil was brave enough to take the mic – well played Mel!

A huge thanks to the senior Directors for funding the event, Douglas Rugby Club for hosting and keeping the drinks flowing, Bounce Above the Rest for the hire of the inflatables, The Grill Pit for the tasty food, Jamie Blackburn for his excellent music, the social committee for bringing everything together, and everybody who attended on the day.  We are already looking forward to next year’s social!
