Crowe Morgan continue to donate their Dress Down Day proceeds to local charities, with the latest recipient to be Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Isle of Man.

Hyperbaric Medicine is used for the treatment of indicated medical conditions together with the management and relief of pain, the treatment of divers with diving related diseases, and the treatment of patients suffering from injuries and chronic medical conditions, including the after effects of chemotherapy and strokes.

Shaun Wilde, pictured, suffered a stroke in August 2015 which left him completely paralysed.  His rehabilitation was carried out initially at Nobles Hospital and latterly at The Walton Centre in Liverpool. When he returned to the Island in 2016 he had the benefit of using the hyperbaric chamber for 3 rounds of treatment, each round consisting of 1 hour per day for 4 days per week for 5 weeks.  Treatment at the hyperbaric chamber played a large part in Shaun’s return to work, which occurred in November 2016, much to everyone’s delight.

Whilst the facilities are currently closed, HBOT are fundraising to purchase, install and commission a new hyperbaric chamber into the new Peel Road location (which will also include a consultation room and other facilities) as soon as practically possible. The fundraising target is set at £800,000, of which £420,000 is for the new hyperbaric chamber itself, with current funds raised of £322,000.

Debbie was thrilled to accept the donation of £500 on behalf of the charity, confirming that it would be put directly toward the cost of the new hyperbaric chamber which will be on the island for the next 50 years.
