CM Donate To Friends of Noble’s Hospital

CMP continues to donate the proceeds collected from Dress Down Days to local charities, with the latest recipient being the Friends of Noble’s Hospital.

Kevin noted that the charity, which was set up in 1947, previously as the League of Friends of Noble’s Hospital, is a charity which is likely to have touched every family on the Island by providing support and “comforts” to patients and their families at Noble’s Hospital. These comforts can range from care and overnight packages for unexpected stays, provision of toys for the children visiting or being treated throughout the wards and Christmas and Easter presents for patients staying in Nobles at that time.

The charity donations also help in larger projects such as in purchasing equipment required and redecorating the hospital. These donations were recently put towards the notable purchase of nine ventilators at £204,000 kindly purchased to help the Island in their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. There have also been redecorations throughout the hospital made possible through donations, such as the recent redecoration of the radiology department and children’s wards, to improve the experience and brighten the mood of their patients.

Kevin further noted that monies have also been put to purchasing equipment to help with the speed of diagnosis and treatment and to allow for more treatments to take place on island such as their purchase of “Lofty” to quickly diagnose blood diseases and an investment in a new scanner at £90,000 for liver diseases diagnosis.

Kevin was thrilled to accept the donation of £500 on behalf of the charity confirming that it would be put towards assisting in improving the experience of the patients and their families and to benefit the provision of health care throughout Noble’s Hospital.
