CMP continues to donate the proceeds collected from Dress Down Days to local charities, with the latest recipient being the Isle of Man Foodbank.

The Isle of Man Foodbank is a voluntary organisation, established to support those in crisis on the island. It provides emergency support by distributing donations of food and non-food essentials to those most in need. The Foodbank’s aim is to support clients back to independence using food as a tool to achieve this. The Foodbank initially interview those in need to identify the ‘triggers’ that have contributed to the crisis and their residual budget to agree an action plan, which also includes signposting to other charities to assist in additional ways such as Budget Advice or Debt Management.

Madina advised that, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for food package parcels, which can range from providing for an individual to a family, previously stood at around 200 parcels per month. This demand rose to circa 650 per month at the height of the pandemic but has since averaged to around 400 – 500 per month following the lifting of restrictions.

Madina was thrilled to accept the donation of £500 on behalf of the charity confirming that it would be put towards assisting those most in need of their services and in helping with reducing food poverty on the Island.
