Barry McCarneyACA FCCA
Barry hails from Northern Ireland and moved to the Isle of Man in the 1980’s. He has worked in all areas of practice since 1989 qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1997 and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 2012.
Barry became a Partner of CM in 2001. He has a broad field of expertise including audit, taxation, and financial consultancy, and was formerly CM’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer for over 16 years. In the past years, Barry has particularly focused on structures for families and high net worth individuals with assets in various countries. He has successfully relocated many individuals to the Isle of Man to take advantage of its tax cap status, advising on estate planning, and the creation of Trusts and corporate entities to provide asset protection for families. He continues to act as auditor and is a R.I. for UK audit engagements.
Barry is married with three daughters and four grandchildren. He enjoys the many motorsport events that take place in the Island. As a competitor, Barry has navigated in car rallies, both in the Isle of Man, UK and in Ireland, but is also a huge Isle of Man TT fan, the world-famous annual motorcycle festival. He also enjoys travelling at a much more sedate pace and loves to travel far and wide with his family in their motor- home.
